Abstract

The mural decoration wall is composed from a plane external plastics or metal surface and an internal surface opposite the support to be covered. There are several longitudinal stiffening over-thicknesses (1) supported on the support. The end abutting ends of adjacent walls comprise mating U- (5) and I-shaped (6) sections which provide a mechanical joint and sealing.

Description

The present invention relates to a single-surface mono wall decoration wall consisting of an external surface (3) see FIG. 2 preferably flat with a thickness of the order of 1.5 mm and an inner surface (4) see FIG.2 intended to be opposite with the support to be covered by the wall. There are already double-surface walls separated by spacers called partitions with honeycomb walls, see FIG. 1 which have the drawbacks of requiring specialized cutting tools. The presence of the spacers in a honeycomb wall gives such rigidity that it is practically impossible to fold it transversely or longitudinally. The fabrication of the honeycomb wall requires much more expensive tooling. In the present invention, the wall (4) see FIG.2 according to the invention comprises at least one or more longitudinal overthickness (1) see FIG.2, advantageously of thickness 1.5 mm and width of the order of 5 mm to stiffen it or of width of the order of 1 mm to make it more flexible depending on the type of support on which it is applied see (1) FIG. 3. The end abutment parts consist of a U-shaped profile (5) for example of dimensions 10 mm x 22 mm x 1 mm, intended to receive the profile in 1 (6) of dimensions for example 9 mm x 0.1 mm from the adjacent wall.

Preferably the wall has a thickness of the order of 1 mm to 2 mm for a width of one to two tens of centimeters allowing manual easy fitting.

The front branch (7) of the U-shaped section is shorter by about half or 10 mm the length of the other branch (8). The branch (8) must be of sufficient length in order to ensure moisture-tightness and to provide sufficient space for a staple to be placed allowing it to be fixed to the support. The I-shaped part of 0.9 mm x 9 mm is slightly offset from the external surface of the wall by a length of 1 mm less than the small 10 mm branch of the U so that associated one to the other their wall is in the same plane and come edge to edge in order to leave a most reduced slit.

The system can be reversible so as to serve as an anti-poster support because of its external thickness (es).

The usable material can be a plastic PVC, ABS, Polycarbonate, polyester, Polystyrene etc ... or metal.

The manufacturing process is done by extrusion for plastic or for metal.

The advantages lie mainly in the simplicity of manufacture by extrusion, a reduced cost of the tooling, a unit price of the finished product area as well as the ease and speed of installation against the support.

Thanks to the tightness of the abutment parts, we have the possibility of washing the wall in the event that the application of the latter is installed in a room where a food preparation activity is carried out.

By way of nonlimiting example developed during a first filing on July 25, 1997 or will describe a wall according to the invention. Claims (10)
