Abstract

The inflatable ball has a hollow body (10) sealed to gas and an internal light source. The light source has a mounting base (215) fixed to the wall of the ball. The fixing provides a permanent attachment to the ball and is sealed to allow the ball to be inflated. A long narrow housing (223) projects from the base into the interior of the ball. This housing is sealed so that a light source (22), in the shape of an elongated rod, can be inserted in the housing without allowing gas to escape. A removable outer cover (40) attaches to the fixed base to allow access to the light source and its supply and electric components.
