Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a device intended to alleviate the drawbacks caused by urinary incontinence. It consists in closing the urinary tract for a limited period and in giving the bladder, during this time, its retention role.
Except for a surgical solution, people suffering from urinary incontinence currently only have absorbent towels. These protections are often of large volume or require frequent washing.
Elles peuvent aussi contraindre l'utilisateur à renoncer à certaines activités sportives ou sociales. They can also force the user to give up certain sporting or social activities.
The device according to the invention overcomes these drawbacks by replacing the usual towels. I1 indeed comprises, according to a first characteristic, an applicator formed by a cannula and a spatulated and hollow body, the assembly enclosing a balloon partly filled with physiological saline. The balloon has the particularity of enclosing a valve separating, before use, an empty half of this balloon folded back in the cannula, from another half filled with physiological saline and forming a sphere in the hollow body of the applicator. This valve will prevent the liquid from flowing back, once the device is in place.
The user will introduce the cannula into his urethra while holding the device by the spatulated part of the applicator. By light pressure on the balloon, it will cause the physiological saline to move through the valve. It will come out of the part of the balloon outside the urethra to inflate the part inside. of the urethra, thereby achieving the desired obturation. The valve will prevent the liquid from flowing back and reducing the effectiveness of the device. If the urination is felt, it will suffice for the user to exert a slight traction on the spatulated part of the applicator so that the internal part of the balloon closing the urethra elongates and its diameter narrows, thereby facilitating the withdrawal. Once removed, the device cannot be reused and must be replaced with a new one. Its evacuation into waste water will not pose any difficulty, the liquid contained preventing it from floating.
The device can be packaged in a sterile blister and containing a lubricating gel. It can be distributed in boxes of several tens, because it will have to be renewed on average six to ten times a day. Some reluctant users may receive prosthetic education.
According to particular embodiments: -The materials will be selected for a perfect annallergie -The diameter, the length, the shape of the cannula will have to adapt to the different morphologies -the physiological serum recommended by the inventor can be replaced by another liquid or by a gas.
-La valvule dessinéé pourra prendre différentes formes, être remplacée par un clapet ou par des moyens mécaniques internes ou externes au dispositif selon des variantes non illustrées.-The designed valve may take different forms, be replaced by a valve or by mechanical means internal or external to the device according to variants not illustrated.
The volume of the balloon as well as that of its contents may vary in order to obtain maximum efficiency and wearing time.
The wall of the balloon can be refined so that when it is torn apart, the device can be removed more easily.
-Une variante de l'applicateur pourra permettre de le retirer, ou de pouvoir le replier, juste après la pose, afin de supprimer toute gêne extérieure eventuelle.-A variant of the applicator may allow it to be removed, or to be able to fold it back, just after installation, in order to remove any possible external discomfort.
-La partie spatulée dessinée arrondie pourra être de forme différente.-The spatula drawn rounded part may be of different shape.
By thickening the wall of the middle part of the balloon, it can be given sufficient rigidity so that the rapping is no longer necessary.
