Abstract

The method involves forming chains of covered springs. Each chain (A-C) is introduced into a tubular seating (4) defined by two rectangular sheets (5,6) which are superposed and assembled to each other by rows of stitching to form the seatings. The chains of springs are introduced one behind the other between two sheets and between two presses (3) which preload the springs in the chain. The rows of stitching can be formed between two adjacent chains held in a preloaded position by the presses.
