Abstract

The bucket (10) and its support base (12) are intended for use on an inclined surface. The bucket is connected to the support by a hinge (14) which enables it to pivot. A flat rod (20) fixed to the support holds the bucket in its inclined position after pivoting. The free end of the rod is placed under a retaining leg fixed to the bucket. This leg has a screw, rotated by a button (26), which wedges the free edge against the bucket wall after it has been pivoted. The thick support base has a rounded cavity (16) which fits the shape of a standard round tile (30).

Description

The invention relates to containers of the bucket type usable on inclined surfaces such as roofs and in particular an assembly formed of a container such as a bucket and its support suitable for any inclined surface.

Masons, roofers or carpenters are well aware of the problem of having to use a bucket filled with cement, plaster, plaster or other product when they are on a roof or other inclined surface. To avoid running the risk of spilling part of its contents, you must avoid filling the bucket as much as possible, which means that the bucket has to be lowered frequently to fill it.

Even if the bucket is not very full, there is always the risk of dropping the bucket out of the roof, especially when the roof has a large slope.

This is why the object of the invention is to provide a container suitable for being able to be immobilized in the position it would have on a horizontal plane.

The object of the invention is therefore an assembly formed of a container such as a bucket, its support adapted to be placed stably on an inclined surface, the container being connected to the support by means of a hinge which thus makes it possible to pivot the container, and of an immobilization means integral with the support and making it possible to maintain the container in the position reached after pivoting, so that it is always possible to immobilize the container in the position that it would have if it were placed on a horizontal plane and this regardless of the inclination of the inclined surface.

The objects, objects and characteristics of the invention will appear more clearly on reading the following description made with reference to the drawings in which
FIG. 1 is a perspective representation of the assembly formed by the container and its support according to the invention, and
Figure 2 is a schematic representation of the assembly according to the invention placed on an inclined surface and in which the container has been immobilized in a horizontal position.

As illustrated in FIG. 1, the assembly according to the invention comprises a bucket 10 placed on a support 12. The bucket 10 is connected to the support 12 by means of a hinge 14 secured to the support 12 but whose axis is fixed to the front of the bucket 10. This hinge therefore allows the bucket to be tilted, the axis of the hinge then serving as a pivot axis.

The support 12 shown in Figure 1 is a cement base and therefore a significant weight preventing the assembly from tipping over when it is placed on a sloping roof. In the preferred embodiment illustrated in the figures, the underside of the support 12 has a recess 16 in the form of an arc of circle making it possible to follow the shape of a standard tile or any other form of tile when the roof is in roof tiles. In this way, the hinge 14 is horizontal since it is perpendicular to the direction of the recess and therefore to the line of greatest slope materialized by the alignment of the tiles. When the bucket is rotated about the axis of the hinge, it is then possible to find a position such that the upper edge 18 of the bucket is in a horizontal plane, that is to say that the bucket is placed in the position it would have if it rested on a horizontal plane. This position is also illustrated in FIG. 2.

In order to immobilize the bucket in a horizontal position, a flat rod 20, fixed by two screws on the support 12, has its free part which passes into the space left between the bucket and a retaining tab 24 fixed to the bucket by welding or screw at its two ends and leaving a vacuum between it and the bucket for the passage of the flat rod 20. The retaining tab 24 is crossed by a screw which can be more or less driven so as to wedge the end 22 of the flat rod, by screwing by means of the manual screwing button 26.

The assembly formed by the bucket 10 and its support 12 is transported by means of a handle 28 fixed to the support, either fixedly or movably by two hinges 28.

In the latter case, a mechanism can be provided for locking the handle in the high position as illustrated in FIGS. 1 and 2.

When the assembly according to the invention is placed on a sloping roof, such as on a tile 30 thanks to the recess 16 located on the support 12, it is then easy to pivot the bucket around its hinge 14 to bring it into the position it would have if it were placed on a horizontal plane, as illustrated in Figure 2. The bucket is immobilized in this position by turning the knob 26 so as to wedge the end 22 of the flat rod 20 against the bucket.

Although the above description relates to a preferred embodiment of the invention, it is possible to make modifications without departing from the scope of the invention. Thus, the mechanism formed by the flat rod 20, the retaining tab 24 and the screwing button 26, could be replaced by any other means capable of immobilizing the bucket in the horizontal position allowing its easy use in the same way as if it was placed on a horizontal floor.

Similarly, the support 12 in cement could also be replaced by a light support that can be adapted on a sloping roof, in particular on a standard round tile. To do this, the metal support, plastic or any other material, can be provided with a hooking mechanism or even a suction cup.

Finally, it can also be provided that the bucket can be detached from the support. In this case, the hinge 14 must be formed of two interlocking parts, a female part secured to the support and a male part fixed to the base of the bucket.

Although the preferred embodiment just described uses a bucket as a container, it is clear that any other container could be used without departing from the scope of the invention.
