Abstract

The snow shoe covering is fitted over the open inner portion of its frame (2). The snow shoe covering consists of a series of supporting cross-pieces (40). At least one of these pieces is arch-shaped in section and is open towards the bottom (BA). The arch is of varying height, and the cross-pieces which form the covering reduce in with from the centre of the shoe to the frame. The boot fastening is attached to the top of the covering which, alternatively, can have toothed edges for a better grip on ice or snow.

Description

IMPROVEMENT FOR SNOW CASTER SIEVES
the present invention relates to a snowshoe and more particularly an improvement of its sieve.

 Snowshoes have been known for many years because they have been used for centuries by the Scandinavian populations to travel on snow. Until today, snowshoes were used for utility or military purposes, to allow the populations and the alpine troops to move on snow for their displacements necessary for the daily life.

Currently, snowshoes are rather used by sportsmen who go for hikes and walks, or even competitions. But athletes, although practicing for their pleasure, are more and more demanding for the equipment they use, and it is true that the products currently sold do not give full satisfaction, and especially during the progression on snow.

 The present invention provides a new racket combining both good performance in hooking and support on the ground, while allowing easy progression both uphill and downhill.

 Other characteristics and advantages of the invention will emerge from the description which follows with reference to the appended drawings which are given only by way of nonlimiting examples.

 Figures 1 to 5 illustrate a first embodiment.

 Figure 1 is a top view of the snowshoe with its attachment, but without the shoe.

 Figure 2 is a side view, the shoe being shown in phantom.

 Figure 3 is a top view of the racket alone without the attachment.

 Figure 4 is a sectional view along AA of Figure 3, but on a larger scale.

 Figure 5 is a view similar to Figure 3 showing an alternative embodiment.

 The racket designated under the general reference (1) is in the form of an openwork plate of general plane of symmetry (P) fixed under the shoe and which consists of a peripheral frame (2), consisting of at least one peripheral wall defining an interior zone or screen (4), comprising a set of internal walls supporting the fixing (5) intended to retain the shoe (6) of the user.

 Said main frame has a generally elongated shape possibly extending at the rear by a tail (7) of reduced width, while the front is advantageously raised and of substantially pointed shape to constitute the front spatula (8).

Said sieve (4) with its set of internal walls forms a general lower surface for bearing on the snow allowing the user not to sink too far into the snow, thanks to the relatively large bearing surface of the sieve. Note that the binding (5) for retaining the boot (6) is, according to the illustration given by way of example, articulated with respect to the screen (4) of the racket itself, along a transverse axis (xi). Advantageously, said binding bearing the general reference (5) is constituted by an articulated plate (9) comprising retention means for the shoe, namely front retention means (10) intended to retain the front end (11 ) of the shoe (6) and rear retaining means (12) intended to retain the rear end (13) of said shoe
The screen (4) consists, at least in part, of a succession of support walls (40) extending transversely, to of course serve as a support surface on the snow but also connect the central part (14) supporting the fixing (5) to the peripheral frame (2).

 According to the invention, at least one of the transverse bearing walls (40) is constituted by a profile forming a box open downwards comprising at least one portion of front wall (40a) extending forward and downwards and a rear wall portion (40b) extending backwards and downwards, the two wall portions (40a and 40b) converging upwards.

 According to another characteristic of the invention, the transverse support wall (s) (40) extend from the central part (14) towards the peripheral frame (2) while progressively decreasing in width (l).

 Of course, the invention is not limited to the embodiments described and shown by way of examples, but it also includes all the technical equivalents and their combinations.

Claims (1)

 1. Snowshoe (1) comprising a peripheral frame (2) delimiting an interior zone or sieve (4) constituted by a set of internal support walls (40) characterized in that at least one of the walls of support extends transversely and is constituted by a profile forming a box open downwards comprising at least a portion of front wall (40a) extending forward and downward and a portion of rear wall (40b) s 'extending backwards and downwards, the two wall portions (40a and 40b) being convergent upwards.
