Abstract

The fixing (5) for a snowshoe (1) comprises a pivoting plate (9) the front end of which is fitted with clamps. These clamps have a succession of teeth and the plate has a front extension ensuring the retention of each of the teeth.

Description

IMPROVEMENT FOR SNOWSHOES
The present invention relates to an improvement for snowshoeing.

 Snowshoes have been known for many years because they have been used for centuries by the Scandinavian populations to travel on snow. Until today, snowshoes were used for utility or military purposes, to allow the populations and the alpine troops to move on snow for their displacements necessary for the daily life.

Currently, snowshoes are rather used by sportsmen who go for hikes and walks, or even competitions. But athletes, although practicing for their pleasure, are more and more demanding for the equipment they use, and it is true that the products currently sold are not entirely satisfactory.

 Thus, snowshoes must combine grip and lift criteria, while maintaining maximum comfort for their users. Furthermore, depending on the different snow conditions encountered, the lift of the snowshoe necessary for a pleasant walk may prove to be different. Similarly, depending on the different terrains encountered, the most suitable general shape of the racket may also be different.

As a result, each racket is generally efficient for certain snow and slope conditions and is often less efficient for other conditions.

 The attachment for a snowshoe of the type consisting of a pivoting plate, the front end of which is fitted with studs comprising a succession of teeth, is, according to the invention, characterized in that the plate comprises at least one front extension ensuring the retention of each of the teeth.

 Other characteristics and advantages of the invention will emerge from the description which follows with reference to the appended drawings which are given only by way of nonlimiting examples.

 Figures 1 and 2 are views illustrating the racket equipped with the binding according to the invention.

 Figure 1 is a top view without the shoe.

 Figure 2 is a side view, the binding retaining the shoe of the user.

 Figure 3 is an enlarged view in longitudinal section of the front end of the plate with its studs.

 Figure 4 is a perspective view.

 The racket designated under the general reference (1) is in the form of an openwork plate of general plane of symmetry (P) fixed under the shoe and which consists of a main frame (2) and a sieve ( 4), comprising a set of walls supporting the binding (5) intended to retain the shoe (6) of the user, as shown in FIGS. 1 and 2.

 Said sieve (4) with its set of internal walls forms a general lower surface for bearing on the snow allowing the user not to sink too far into the snow, thanks to the relatively large bearing surface. Note that the binding (5) for retaining the shoe (6) is, according to the illustration given by way of example, articulated with respect to the screen (4) of the racket itself, along a transverse axis (XX ') .

 Said binding bearing the general reference (5) is advantageously constituted by an articulated plate (9) comprising retaining means for the shoe, namely, front means (10) and rear means (11). Thus, the front end (12) of the shoe is, for example, retained by a front stirrup (13), while its rear end (14) is, thanks to a rear retaining part (15).

 According to the preferred embodiment, the front retaining means (10) are arranged in a slim manner at the front end (9a) of the plate (9), while the rear retaining means (11) are slidably mounted longitudinally on said plate and comprise locking means. It goes without saying that the front retaining means could also be mounted to slide in an adjustable manner with similar locking means, without however departing from the protective field of the invention.

 According to the illustrated embodiments, the rear retaining part (15) is constituted by a nesting wall (150) forming a cavity (16) open towards the front intended to retain the heel (14) of the shoe.

Furthermore, there is, for example, provided a retaining strap (17) provided with clamping means (30), said retaining strap being intended to enable the heel of the user's shoe to be held against the wall of the interlocking (150).

 The pivoting plate (9), which is advantageously made of plastic, comprises at its front end (9a) a metal part (20) extending forward, and comprises a succession of teeth (20a, 20b, 20c) . Note that the metal part (20) is fixed under the front (9a) of the plate and each of the teeth extends beyond the front end (90) to extend forward and downward .

According to the invention, the plate comprises at least one front extension (22) intended to reinforce the metal part (20) and more particularly each of the teeth. Said extension serves as a support for the hooking teeth and is constituted, for example, by a succession of projecting extensions (22a, 22b, 22c) located at the level of each of the corresponding teeth.
It goes without saying that it would not go beyond the scope of the invention if there were only one tooth or an equivalent fastening element having the same function.

 Of course, the invention is not limited to the embodiments described and shown by way of examples, but it also includes all the technical equivalents and their combinations.

 1. Attachment (5) for snowshoe (1) of the type constituted by a pivoting plate (9), the front end (9a) of which is fitted with cleats (20) comprising a succession of teeth (20a, 20b, 20c) , characterized in that the plate comprises at least one front extension (22, 22a, 22b, 22c) ensuring the retention of each of at least one of the teeth (20a, 20b, 20c).
