Abstract

A flexible adhesive base sheet (1) is applied against a patient's skin surface (4), and includes a central aperture which cooperates with the axial aperture of a collar (7) through which the surgical drain catheter passes. The collar includes a locking formation for securing the collar around the catheter to prevent relative movement of the two components. The locking formation may consist of a circumferential groove (2) formed in the collar, which cooperates with a locking ring (3) and a removable locking pin (5). The base sheet is slightly convex in configuration, the locking ring is shallowly frusto-conical, and the collar as a whole tapers towards its upper extremity.

1. Fixing device for surgical drain (6), or similar flexible hose, characterized in that it comprises on the one hand a flexible adhesive plate (1) intended to be applied to the skin (4) of a patient in matching the profile thereof, said plate (1) having an opening extended by a collar (7,7a, 7b) allowing the passage and the maintenance of a drain, and on the other hand of clamping means (2) said collar (7,7a, 7b) around said drain (6), said clamping means (2) ensuring uniform clamping of the base of said collar (7,7a, 7b).

2. Device according to claim 1 characterized in that said clamping means (2) consist of an open ring (3a) intended to be clamped by means of a clamp (11).

3. Device according to claim 1 characterized in that said clamping means consist of an open ring (3) cooperating with a pin (5), said pin (5) being intended to be removed when using the device for allow uniform tightening of said ring (3) around said collar (7).

4. Device according to claim 3 characterized in that said open ring (3) has a wide base in contact with said flexible adhesive plate (1).

5. Device according to claim 4 characterized in that said wide base is slightly convex.

6. Device according to claim 4 or 5 characterized in that said open ring (3) has an essentially frustoconical section.

7. Device according to claim 2 to 6 characterized in that said collar (7) has a smaller outer diameter at its base than at its upper end giving it an essentially frustoconical section and in that said open ring (3) has an inner diameter cooperating with the outer shape of said collar (7).

8. Device according to any one of claims 2 to 7 characterized in that said open ring (3) has a bore showing at least one recess (8).

9. Device according to claim 1 characterized in that said collar (7b) has an external thread and in that said clamping means consist of a threaded part forming a nut (12) intended to be screwed onto said collar (7b).

10. Device according to claim 9 characterized in that said collar (7b) has a larger diameter at its base than at its upper end giving it an essentially frustoconical section.
