Abstract

The needle cap remover/re-fitter consists of a body (10) with a flat base, made with a hexagonal-section aperture (4) which provides a friction grip on a hexagonal-section needle cap inserted into it. The user holds the body (10) by a grip zone (5) which is separated from the aperture (4) by a safety zone (6). The aperture is set at a height (h) above the working surface on which the body (10) stands which allows the needle cap to be removed and replaced while the syringe is in contact with the working surface. The body is made, for example, from a plastic which is resistant to a temp. of 145 deg C., allowing it to be sterilised in an autoclave after use.
