Abstract

A utensil, esp. for cleaning plastic surfaces like polyester consists of one or more filaments of a material with a hardness coefficient of between 30 Shore A and 95 Shore D, and with a constant cross-section which has at least one acute angle. It can be made from a single filament wound into a ball which is convenient to hold in the hand and with its whole outer surface suitable for cleaning. The filament is of a polyolefin-type plastic with a cross-section in the shape of a polygon with concave sides, and it can have a metal core to give it a shape memory, or a core of a different material to its outer surface to impart great suppleness. The utensil can also be made in a variety of shapes, e.g. with a handle or in the form of a rotary disc.
