Abstract

The stool has a leg (1), supporting a screw jack (2), on which the seat (4) is mounted. The jack is operated by a handle (8). The rotation of the seat is limited by a rod, under the seat, (13) which engages in a curved slot (18), in the top of the leg. It is centred on the axis of rotation of the seat. When the seat is raised the rod is released from the slot. It can then be engaged in a hole (14), in the top of the leg, to immobilize the seat, when it is lowered.
