Abstract

The ladder safety stabiliser is fit onto the ladder uprights by adjustable jaws. There are sliding front stands (4) for vertically positioning the ladder and adjustable folding side stands (5) in the plane of the ladder. The stands are positioned by spring rods (6). The jaws comprise two front (1) and two rear jaws (9), the assembly of a front and rear jaw being effected by two front jaw male rods (8) which are received in tubes (18) of the rear jaw and locked by a screw (7). The rear jaws fasten and rest on the ladder rungs. Each rear jaw has two sliding plates put against the rungs which are adjustable by bolts. Each rear jaw also has two locking screws to compensate for the thickness of the ladder upright.
