Abstract

The washer consists of a jet (13), which is mounted on a mobile support structure (14), which is fixed to a sliding piston (15), and which extends through an opening (11) in the wall of the vehicle bumper (4). When the washer is in the retracted position a shutter (12), which is carried by the support structure, closes off the opening in the bumper. The outer surface of the shutter is so shaped as to form a continuous surface to the bumper, when in the closed position. The support structure for the washer is extended in the direction of the bumper along an axis (20), which is carried by a round disk (22), which is adjustable along the axis, by means of a nut (25), to enable the position of the shutter to be adjusted.
