Abstract

The sheet (1) comprises an internal membrane (2) with an affinity for water and an external membrane (3) constituted from a material not readily wettable. This latter membrane is modified with a water retaining product and is micro-porous. The two membranes are stuck together at gluing points (4). The internal membrane consists of paper treated with paraffin. It has a double layer with a sheet of paper (5) coating the internal paraffin layer (6). The membrane is porous and will not adhere to the product with which it is in contact. The external membrane has a single layer and is constituted from transparent propylene impermeable to and resistant to water. It is coated on its internal face with a flat opaque water retainer. The space (7) between the two membranes protects the cheese from environmental temperature and humidity variations.
