Abstract

The training system for a sports player includes a central control element (1), mounted for example over the centre of a tennis court. This is linked to a number of beacons mounted around the court e.g. at the back of the court tram lines (2). The link between the central control and the beacons may be by cable, radio link or infrared link. Direction indicators (5) formed by light emitting diodes are mounted on the central box, showing where a player must move. Within a certain time interval the player must get to the specified beacon and activate a button. His success in moving quickly to the required position may ultimately be monitored by a central computer.
