Le transport des machines à coudre industrielles est traditionnellement effectué par une ou deux personnes, sans aucun moyen adapté, ce qui oblige de gros efforts et une perte de temps considérable. L'état de la technique connue est donné par le brevet d'un chariot pour le transport de machines déposé le 10 décembre 1973, sous le numero 2.254.203. Ce chariot est constitué d'un chassis fermé de quatre barres, équipé de quatre roues disposees à l'exté- rieur du chassis constituant un encombrement. Ce chariot est plus spécialement destiné pour le déplacement d'un certain type de machines avec socles et ne possède aucun moyen adéquat pour les machines à pieds. Le réglage peu précis ne se fait que dans le sens longitudinal et ne bloque aucunement la machine qui peut heurter un obstacle lors d'un déplacement. Ce chariot surélève de trop la machine.
