Abstract

The lighting device illuminates a translucent sheet which is held in a frame, from below. The sheet (2) is attached to a rectangular frame (3). The frame is deep enough to avoid heating of the sheet by the light source. The sheet on its frame is placed above a light box (7). A cover frame (1) is fitted over the sheet and its frame, the sides of the cover extending over the sides of the light box. The light box is covered by a plastic sheet (4), and houses two fluorescent tubes (9), which are powered through a transformer (10) from the AC mains supply. The mains switch is on an outside wall of the light box.
