Abstract

Wishbone for carrying out jibbing by passing under the sail with a racing sail. The invention relates to a wishbone making it possible to carry out jibbing by passing under the sail on racing rigging, and to do this while considerably reducing the risks of falling. It consists of a system of pulleys (1) for hoisting the sheet sail, an automatic handle (2), which is also standard, for fixing the mast, an arbitrary adjustment device (3) in order to allow length variation of the latter. The control parts of the wishbone are truncated-V detachments (7) located in the third quarter of the wishbone starting from the handle (2). The truncation has a length of approximately 25 centimetres. The truncated V, for its part, has a depth of the order of 20 centimetres. All four of the angles caused by detachment of the truncated V have the same value, approximately 130 to 140 degrees.

Description

WISHBONE PROFILE
The present invention is in the field of windsurfing.

It concerns a wishbone making it possible to practice jibe by passing under the sail with racing type riggings whose shape and size did not allow it before.

With a traditional wishbone, during the edge grip, during the jibe passing under the sail, the front hand releases the wishbone and comes to cross the rear hand to take hold as close as possible to the listening point.

So when the sail tips, especially if the rigging is designed for racing-racing, the edge abuts against the chin. This disadvantage can however be remedied if the front hand comes to be taken near the listening point about 20 centimeters lower than usual.

During slalom races, tacking under sail is never practiced due to the type of rigging used.

During tacking, we therefore opt for simple ganza, much slower but safer.

This wishbone according to the inventor, makes it possible to pass the jibe while passing under the sail in spite of the imposing border of the sails of slalom or racing. The device consists of a very specific form offering the possibility for the windsurfer to succeed in the delicate transition.

No particular element was brought to him, only the shape of its branches was modified.

Windsurfing wishbone allowing passage under the sail in that it has two arched branches forming a truncated V notch in the third quarter of the wishbone starting from the automatic handle.

The truncation is of the order of 25 centimeters and the truncated V has a depth of approximately 20 centimeters; the four angles resulting from this setback are of identical measurement, between the right angle and the flat angle.

The accompanying drawings illustrate the invention. Figure (1) shows in profile the wishbone according to the invention. Figure (2) shows from above this same wishbone.

With reference to these drawings, the wishbone comprises a system of standard pulleys at the listening point (1) allowing the sail to be pulled out, an automatic handle (2) also standard for fixing the mast, any adjustment system (3 ) in order to vary the length of the wishbone according to the rigged sail. The angles (5) and (6) will have a dimension between the right angle and the flat angle.

The angles (5) and (6) will be the same size.

With a traditional wishbone, during the edge grip, during the propane passing under the sail, the front hand releases the wishbone and comes to cross the rear hand to take hold as close as possible to the listening point.

So when the sail tips, especially if the rigging is designed for racing-racing, the edge abuts against the chin. We fear however to remedy this inconvenience if the front hand comes to take hold near the point of listening about 20 centimeters lower than usual.

As a limiting example, the length of the wishbone from the automatic handle (2) to the listening point (1) will be from lm.70 to 2.20m depending on the setting of the size variation device.

The width of the wishbone will be that of a standard racing or slalom wishbone.

The wishbone, according to the inventor, is particularly intended to obtain a saving of time when tacking the buoy by opting for lashing while passing under the sail to the detriment of simple jibing or henceforth accessible on all types of sails.
