Abstract

The device includes a main module (1) housed in a casing and connected to mains via an electrical conductor (2). Two connectors (3) are provided for connecting the module to a domestic appliance, e.g. a lamp. A red LED (4) indicates when the device is connected to the mains while a socket (5) makes connection to a second module (21). The second module presents a connection cable (22) and a photoelectric cell (55) which automatically cuts off the power supply when is illuminated by a light beam (56). The module is supplied by a transformer and a rectifying bridge (57).

Description

 The following invention relates to a safety device for protecting not only children in their bedrooms, but also adults in a bathroom (among others), from electricity.

In a child's room, to light the bedside lamp, generally, there is a switch installed directly on the electric wire or in wall mounting.

When the switch placed on the wire is damaged, the user runs the risk of receiving an electric shock.

In the case of wall mounting, the user is better protected, but the risk of electric shock with wet hands still exists.

The proposed system, which eliminates this risk, consists of two parts that can each be housed in a box
One, connected to electricity, will be connected to the source to be switched on, and the other will be connected to the output of the first part, but without any risk.

The connecting cable of the two parts can be omitted, the elements of the two parts being combined in a single box which can either be directly plugged into an outlet or connected to the latter by a connecting conductor.

Indeed, the originality of connection will be effected by the introduction of a card of the used telephone card type.

On the one hand, the danger will no longer exist and on the other hand, lighting the lamp with a telephone card will look like a game for the child, and he will forget about the other connection systems that seem to him out of date. , such as switches.

Other advantages emerge from this invention
This system will transform into an electronic key to prevent any improper use of television, video recorder, minitel, etc.

In addition, when the system is not connected, the user box acts as a phone card tester.

In a preferred variant, the plugs, used to connect the device to be supplied, will be provided with an additional safety device which cuts off the power supply when there is no socket in the plugs.

The low-voltage supply necessary for the various elements can be provided for example by a battery or by a mains supply of the transformer-rectifier type.

Figure 1 shows the device connected to any source running on electricity.

 I1 consists of a first part (1) housed in a box with an outgoing electric wire (2) to be connected to the mains.

The 2 plugs (3) are used to connect the source to be switched on.

The red LED lamp (4) is used to control the power up and the socket (5) is used to connect the user box (Fig. 2).

Figure 2 shows the second part (21) comprising the connection box by used telephone card, which the user will have in his hand or as a wall mount.

This part (21) will be connected a cable at (22) connecting the other device (Fig.l).

Then the user introduces in (23) the telephone card.

When this device is transformed into a telephone card tester, the switch (24) is pressed and the red LED lamp (25) lights up to announce that the card is used; however if the lamp remains off it means that the card is still good.

In (26), we have the supply battery for the low-voltage elements of the two parts.

Figure 3 shows a preferred mode of electronic diagram of the invention.

In addition to the elements already described, we can see on this diagram the photocoupler (for example one or two phototriacs) ensuring the insulation between the control part (fig. 21) and the controlled member, and the triacs for cutting off the power supply .

Figure 4 shows, by an electronic diagram, another preferred embodiment of the invention.

In addition to the elements already described, we have in this diagram a photoelectric cell (55) which automatically and systematically cuts off the arrival of the mains supply when the latter is lit by the light beam of an indicator (56).

When the beam is completely cut, the outlet is again supplied by the sector.

On the other hand the battery is replaced by a power transformer and a rectifier bridge (57).

Claims (5)
