Abstract

The invention relates to a combination of two natural products, one being taken systematically as base and in the larger proportion, and is a fatty oil of vegetable or animal origin, the other is an aromatic essential oil extracted from a plant, namely Melaleuca alternifolia, which may be replaced by - or combined with - another aromatic essential oil of equivalent biochemical composition or which is traditionally known for its similar therapeutic effects, in particular on localised dental complaints: gingival abscesses or any other periodontal pathologies displaying infectious or inflammatory features.

Description

<Desc/Clms Page number 1> <Desc / Clms Page number 1>

The object of the invention is the manufacture and use in dentistry of a combination of natural products having adjuvant antibacterial, analgesic and anti-inflammatory localized effects.

Currently dental practitioners can hardly care for an infected tooth immediately (parulia), they precede their care with taking antibiotics and anti-inflammatories which delays their intervention (duration of taking on average 10 days), and has the disadvantage of habituation (enzymatic adaptation) by the pathogenic germs causing the abscess.

In addition, some patients can hardly bear the side effects of antibiotics. The product can eliminate these significant drawbacks: the results obtained (on average, and according to the tests carried out, regression of the infection in 48 hours), are therefore faster than those obtained by conventional antibiotics. alone. It has no side effects, it is very easy to use.

,Gram- : coti, proteus,Kleb.,..)  The broad spectrum antibacterial action of one of the two components is recognized and proven (Gram +: staph., Gram-: coti, proteus, Kleb., ..)

one called "fatty" (lipid) the other called "essential" (aromatic).

.  1) - The fatty oil is of vegetable ('virgin') or animal (fish) origin: olive, carthamme, soya, wheat germ, sunflower etc. or any other vegetable or animal oil preferably rich in fatty acids essential (AGE).

These oils rich in fatty acids loaded with phospholipids have major advantages: on the one hand, thanks to their bio-chemical structure they bind immediately to aromatic molecules, on the other hand they facilitate the absorption of the latter (effect ' transporter ') through the cell walls of the gingival mucosa, EFAs facilitating the reconstitution of these by their antioxidant action (presence of tocophenol); moreover, the constituents of the lipid molecules suppress a possible causticity of the aromatic molecules for the buccal epithelium.

The essential oil (aromatic) to be used preferably: it is extracted from the leaves of a plant called Melaleuca alternifolia (terpinene-4- Olifera) originating in the Far East, with leaves alternating with terpinol-4- of the myrtaceae family ..

The product which is the subject of the invention is the combination of 50% to 70% of a fatty oil, if possible rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids; with 50% to 30% essential oil of Melaleuca alternifolia; this proportion being able to vary according to the contents of the various active ingredients, this essential oil can be replaced by any other or be associated with others if they have similar bio-chemical characteristics and / or if they have traditionally the same type of action adjuvant therapy.

The homogeneous mixture is obtained by simple mixing of the two products in a technical environment respecting the standards accepted in the production of cosmetic or food products.

The use is carried out using a cotton swab (or the tip of the finger) which one moistens with the product and which one rubs on the area of the infected gum for a few minutes; this operation must be repeated several times a day (at least three times) to obtain a significant and rapid result.

The product not absorbed by the gingival mucosa can be swallowed without drawback, the secondary actions of the essential oil of melaleuca alternifolia being positive for the organism and have no known contraindication or toxicity at the physiological doses used. This composition can act indirectly on the intestinal flora by protecting it from entero-bacteria sometimes responsible for periodontolysis.
