Abstract

The invention relates most particularly to an assembly for storing mascara and for applying it to the eyelashes, comprising a body (2) enclosing a zone which can contain the mascara, means (5) for applying the mascara to the eyelashes, these means, which may be shaped in the form of a helix and are permanently connected to the body, being partly at least mounted movably in translation with respect to the body between a loading position, in which they are retracted into the body, and an application exit position, in which this movable part projects outside the body, and means (9, 11, 21, 23) for controlling and guiding this said movable part in translation. The field of use of the invention is that of cosmetics and hygiene.

Claims

1 - Set for the storage and application of a liquid cosmetic product, such as very particularly a mascara to be applied to eyelashes, comprising

a body (2, 34) containing a zone (57) which can contain said product,

- Means (5, 37, 55, 71) for applying this product, these means permanently linked to the body being at least partly mounted movable in translation relative to it, between a retracted position in this body up to said zone containing the product to be applied where said movable part (5, 55), capable of being loaded with product, retains a certain amount of it, and an out of application position where this movable part protrudes out of the body,

- And means (9, 11, 29, 31, 31 ', 47, 49, 59, 61) for controlling and guiding in translation of this said movable part.

2 - assembly according to claim 1 characterized in that the application means comprise a first hollow part (37, 69) fixed externally to the body (34), in the axial extension of said zone which may contain the product to be applied, and a second part (55) movable between said retracted position and said exit position in which this second movable part then engages through the hollow interior of said first part to bring therein said product.

3 - assembly according to claim 1 or claim 2 characterized in that said application means comprise a structure (5, 37) developing by winding along, and substantially along the axis (la, 39) of said body .

4 - assembly according to claim 3 characterized in that said structure is wound in a helix.

5 - An assembly according to claim 3 or claim 4 characterized in that said structure consists of a relatively rigid wire with a substantially smooth surface, such as a metal wire, thus wound at least locally.

6 - An assembly according to any one of claims 2 to 5 characterized in that said rolled up structure constitutes said first hollow part (37, 69) of the application means.

7 - An assembly according to any one of claims 3 to 6 characterized in that said structure (37) is entirely wound in a helix and one of its ends is directly fixed to the body (34, 41), while the other is carried by a rod (45) fixedly and substantially coaxially connected to this body while passing through the structure substantially along its winding axis (39).

8 - Assembly according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that said movable part (55) is a foam pad or the like suitable for soaking up the product in the retracted position.

9 - assembly according to any one of claims 3 to 8 characterized in that said wound structure (5, 37) are associated with stressing means (21, 41) carried by said body to exert a stress on this structure substantially parallel to its winding axis, by varying the spacing between two successive winding turns.

10 - assembly according to claim 9 characterized in that said constraint means comprise

- fixing means (43, 23, 25) for, in a given state, substantially blocking one end of the structure in a fixed position,

- And means (29, 31, 31 ', 51) for biasing a carriage (9, 41) movable in translation relative to said body substantially parallel to the winding axis of the structure and to which the other end of the latter, to pull or push on this end.
