Abstract

The invention relates to a machine for sorting and bunching together young plants, in particular rose bushes having a root ball. According to the invention, it comprises: a clamp which grips each seedling successively around the base of the stem and has an axis of rotation, a means for measuring the diameter of the stem base of the seedling which has been cut away from the other seedlings, a plurality of bunching means, each connected to a counter for counting the number of plants, and which are located around the circumference of the axis, and a means for transferring the seedling from the clamp to a bunching means depending on the diameter of its stem base.

1. Sorter-baler of plants, in particular of roses, having a collar characterized in that it comprises

- a successive gripper of each plant at the level of the collar and having an axis of rotation,

a means for measuring the diameter of the collar of said plant coupled to said clamp,

a plurality of bundling means each linked to a counter for the number of plants and arranged circumferentially with respect to said axis,

a means of transferring the plant from the clamp to a bundling means as a function of the diameter of said collar.

2. Sorter-baler of plants according to claim 1, characterized in that said clamp comprises a fixed branch and a movable branch around a pivot, the length of the movable branch being determined to form a mechanical multiplier of the diameter of the collar.

Sorter-baler of plants according to claim 2, characterized in that the end of the movable branch of the clamp opposite the gripping point of the plant is coupled to a means of measuring the diameter of said collar so as to determine the means of bundling to which the pinched plant will be transferred.

4. Sorter-baler of plants according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the transfer means comprises a fork mounted on a jack, the plane of the teeth of said fork being referenced relative to the plant of said clamp.
