Abstract

The rotor (1) which is driven by a shaft (2) carries a crown wheel with webs parallel to the axis. A cutting box (4) has two cutters which are also parallel to the axis surrounds the rotor. Celle-ci doit être rendue étanche pour que les copeaux passent uniquement dans le sens radial à travers la boîte à couteaux et ne sortent pas latéralement dans le sens axial par les interstices de la fente.Pour cette raison on utilise des organes d'étanchéité. Ceux-ci sont constitués d'anneaux en tôle et sont enchâssés dans des évidements correspondants des flasques latéraux du rotor et y sont fixés par des vis, de telle sorte que leurs surfaces circonférentielles intérieures soient adjacentes aux surfaces circonférentielles intérieures de la boîte à couteaux. Le fait d'être adjacent provoque bien entendu une certaine usure des organes d'étanchéité, étant donné que l'anneau porte-couteaux est habituellement fixe tandis que le rotor se trouve en rotation.
