Abstract

The bathing costume, esp. for a child, is made in one piece extending from the shoulders (3) to the crutch (2) and incorporates floats (4) to hold the child up in the water. The floats are designed to go round the shoulders, passing under the armpits, and each one is made in a horseshoe shape, with its two ends closing above the shoulder. The floats can be made from inflatable tubes or from polyethylene foam, and in the latter case they can be recessed under the armpits to permit freer arm movement.
