Abstract

The instrument consists of an identical pair of hollow spheres (1,1') containing small stones or similar bodies, connected together by a short length of cord (2). Each sphere has two openings (7,8), one of which is blocked by a rivet (4,4') and the other of which receives the cord. Each sphere is formed by a pair of hemispherical shells glued together along their rims. The length of the cord between the spheres is variable by adjustment of its tying position within one or both spheres. ADVANTAGE - Adjustable to give different sounds and rhythm patterns.

Description

The present invention relates to a game or musical instrument making it possible to compose or reproduce, according to the will of the user, different rhythms.

This invention comprises two balls, containing pebbles, linked together by a cord. It is these two balls which, struck between them, lead to the formation of musical rhythms.

Figure 1 shows a front view of the device according to the invention.

Figure 2 shows in section the interior of one of the two balls.

With reference to these drawings, the device comprises two identical balls (100) (1) (1 ') pierced at their two ends (7) (8), connected by a cord (2) (200). Each ball (lr (1 ') is composed of two half-spheres (3) and also contains pebbles (6). A rivet (300) (4') obstructs the orifice (8) of the outer end of each ball (1) (1 '). The other orifice (7) is occupied by the cord (2), it is held there by a simple knot (5) inside the ball.

To obtain different rhythms using this set, simply place one of the two balls (1) in your hand, passing the cord (2) between your index and middle fingers.

(100):plastique dur -- (200): nylon -- (300):plastique dur -
(100): hard plastic - (200): nylon - (300): hard plastic -
We thus obtain a ball (1) in the palm directed upwards and a second ball (1 ') directed downwards. Now just join the two balls (1) (1 ') in the palm of your hand, ensuring that the cord (2) goes around the little finger, and hold them together using the five fingers of this same hand. Then in a rhythmic movement, swing the ball (1 ') from the bottom by the outside of your hand against the ball (1) from the top while passing the cord (2) over your thumb.

Then, by another movement, return this ball (1 ') to its initial position by blocking it simultaneously against the other ball (1). It is by repeating these two movements that we obtain musical rhythms.

According to a variant not illustrated, the length of the cord can vary according to the morphology of the user.

By way of nonlimiting example, the balls will have dimensions of the order of 4 cm for the diameter and the cord dimensions of the order of 10 cm for the length and the diameter of 0.4 cm.
