Abstract

The booklet, or 'flip book', has a series of flexible pages (3) which are bent and then released by the thumb to show a sequence of images (5) in an apparent movement. One edge of each page is cut with a notch (1), alternately on the right or left hand side, leaving a space in the middle. The notches enable the pages to be flipped in three different ways - at the centre and at both sides - exposing either odd or even-numbered pages or both together to reveal a larger number of different moving images. ADVANTAGE - Increased amusement value.
