Abstract

A male component (1) of the fastening is secured to a female component (2) by means of a sheath (3) of plastics material and a metal ring. The ring has a first cylindrical portion (4) with a longitudinal slot (5), and a second cylindrical portion (7) with a transverse slot (6) connected to the longitudinal slot. The transverse slot extends around almost the whole circumference of the ring. The outer surface of the ring is in complete contact with the inner surface of the sheath. The male component has an external diameter larger than the internal diameter of the first portion of the ring, which is allowed to deform slightly by its slot on insertion of the male component. ADVANTAGE - Intermediate sheath forms shock-absorbing layer in connection between components.
