Abstract

The protective disc holder, e.g. for a compact disc or similar, comprises a moulded assembly consisting of at least one circular cell (1) with a useful vol. corresp. to that of the disc to be protected. The centre of the cell is equipped with a centring pin (2) with its dia. corresp. to the central hole in the disc, surrounded by a supporting surface (3) for a central portion of the disc. The outer edge of the cell has recesses (5a,5b) which allow the disc to be picked up by its edge, and stops (E) to fix the disc inside the cell. The holder can be in the form of a panel with a number of cells for the discs, pref. equipped with a cover which can be attached to the panel along one edge. In addn. the edge of the panel can also be perforated, allowing it to be fitted into a ring binder. The holder is made from thermally shaped polyethylene between 0.3 and 0.5mm thick. ADVANTAGE - Simple and economical make for convenient storage and display of discs.
