Abstract

The invention relates to an arrangement designed to enable the area of a table to be increased, e.g. for a reception, and to store it in a small space after use. The arrangement consists of a preferably round table top comprising several identical elements in the form of sectors of a circle (1 to 8) which fit together one after the other to form said round table top. The arrangement to which the invention relates is particularly designed to be mounted on a table.

Claims

1- Device for increasing the capacity to receive a table, characterized in that it consists of a plate covering said table, larger than the surface of the latter, said plate consisting of several radial elements (there 8) assembled lvun to each other along the ray line bordering each circular sector of the elements.

2- Device according to claim 1, characterized in that said assembly of the elements (1 to 8) is of the tenon and mortise type.

3- Device according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the plate is obtained by the assembly of 8 equivalent elements (1 to 8).

4- Device according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that an additional extension is formed by having between the half-plates (7 to 4) and (3 to 8) a median element (9) of appropriate width (Figure 4).

5- Device according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that each element (1 to 8) consists of a rigid flat material produced in layers by a cutting operation with a platen press and then assembled by gluing according to at least three identical layers stacked flat in the same direction, the outer and inner layers being perfectly superimposed while the middle one is offset slightly by radial pivoting according to the tip of the sector of the corresponding element, in order to form on one of the radii of the sector a mortise and on the other radius a tenon.
