Abstract

The invention relates to a system making it possible to automate the sorting of coinage blanks in order to remove those which exhibit contour, surface or geometry defects. The system consists: - of two image analysis units, each analysing one face of the blanks, - a device for distributing and aligning the blanks which presents them to the image analysis units. A device for turning the blanks over makes it possible to present the second face to the second analysis unit. A rejection device is combined with each image analysis unit and allows those blanks judged defective to be separated from those blanks judged correct. The system according to the invention is particularly intended for automatic, high-speed sorting of coinage blanks or objects or products which are in the form of discs or rings.
