Abstract

The subject of the present invention is an awning having a mechanical closure assisted by hydraulic ballasting, especially for the roofing of a swimming pool or the like. It is constituted by the combination of a movable element (1) forming a tunnel and mounted on retractable wheels (9), this movable element being prolonged by one or more bellows mounted on articulated arches (4), the outermost arches consisting of flexible beads (6, 6') which can rest on the ground when the bellows (3) are opened out, and communicating with two water tanks (7) mounted on each side of the movable element, in such a way that the said beads are filled with water when they rest on the ground, and in such a way that they empty into the tanks when the bellows are raised (folded up) by virtue of a cable system (11), the cable being wound on a winch (10), thus making it easier to operate. It is intended in particular for the temporary roofing of swimming pools or sports grounds, but it may find application in all cases where a removable awning is necessary.
