Abstract

The invention relates to a novel perfumed bait for fishing. It is characterised in that it includes an assembly of synthetic monofilament portions forming a bundle, skirt, stack, bunch, streamer, cluster, etc., at least a part of the said monofilaments having good porosity and being perfumed by at least one perfume introduced into the mass of the monofilaments. The perfumed monofilaments may be made from a combination of polyamide 66 and polyamide 6. Principal advantage: progressive diffusion of the perfume in the water and good preservation of said perfume when the bait is out of the water. Applicable to any form of fishing with baits, regardless of the size of fish.

Description

The present invention relates to a fishing lure and more particularly a scented lure.

To further improve the effectiveness of lures, it is known to add artificial flavors or fragrances to it: for example, fish or crustacean oils or any other aromatic substance, using a third sense which is highly developed in fish. : taste. These oils or aromatic substances can either be simply deposited on the surface, or else impregnate a spongy or porous portion provided for this purpose in the lure, as is the case for example, in American patents Nos. 2 745206, 3 953934 , 4,736,542 or the French patent "1,090,612.

However these lures are not very effective because oils or aromatic substances are quickly eliminated especially when fishing is done by trolling or in fast flowing rivers.

Even if they are intended to be recharged, the recharging operation makes their use tedious.

Lures are also known, at least part of which is based on a polymer or synthetic resin or synthetic rubber in which perfumed or flavored substances or (cooking) salt has been incorporated into the mass; This is the case in American patents NO 4 617 753, 4 589 223, 4 530 179.

However, the fact that the aroma is introduced into the mass of a molded body, without any particular precaution, risks making it a prisoner of this body and does not guarantee its good diffusion around the lure, in which case the latter loses a good part of its attractiveness and therefore its effectiveness.

 He is also known from the French application published under No. 2 641797, filed in the name of. the plaintiff, to solicit the taste and possibly olfactory senses of the fish directly through the horsehair. Said application relates to a monofilament for fishing, based on homopolyamide or copolyamide scented with at least one perfume or aroma introduced into the mass. In addition to having a good linear resistance to breakage, to meet the constraints to which subject to the line, this monofilament has great porosity and an important ability to absorb and release Liteau. Thus perfumes and aromas introduced into the mass can gradually migrate from the inside to the outside when the monofilaments are in water, moreover said monofilaments retain their perfumes and aromas well when they are out of water.

However, the quantity and the flow rate of aroma that a single monofilament can diffuse is necessarily limited, as is its zone of influence, as to maintain good mechanical properties the rate of aroma introduced into the monofilament is also limited.

The present invention proposes to improve said fishing technique using an aroma or perfume diffusing from a relatively porous filament perfumed in the mass.

It relates to a scented lure for fishing, characterized in that it comprises an assembly of sections of synthetic monofilaments consisting at least in part of monofilaments having good porosity scented with at least one perfume introduced into the mass of monofilaments during their manufacture .

The proportion between perfumed and unscented monofilaments can vary widely, but preferably the assembly of sections of monofilaments comprises between 50 and 100% of perfumed monofilaments.

In the case where there is less than 100% of perfumed monofilaments, these can be intimately mixed with the unscented monofilaments or occupy a specific place in the assembly, for example according to a core / sheath arrangement.

The perfumed and unscented monofilaments can be produced from the same polymer or from polymers of different natures.

The sections of monofilaments are assembled by any known means (welding, tying, crimping or threading on a support, etc.) so as to form a bundle which can be in the form of a skirt, tail, sheaf, bundle, flame, tuft , toupee, tassel, etc ..., this beam serving as camouflage for the hook (or hooks). This beam can be associated with an element representing a head of a fish or any other aquatic animal.

Preferably, the monofilaments are colored regularly or irregularly, advantageously multicolored and / or fluorescent.

The monofilaments can be cylindrical or conical, of regular or irregular diameter. The assembly can consist of sections of monofilaments of the same nature, same title, same length, same color (s). But it is possible to mix monofilaments of different types, titles, lengths and colors depending on the effect you want to achieve and the type of fishing. One can use flowered, fibrillated, crushed or even curly monofilaments, for example by the Agilon process. It is also possible to mix several types of monofilaments, cylindrical, conical, with irregular diameter and special as above. The lures can present all sizes, adapted to the size of the fish which one wishes to catch, the title of the monofilaments being, to some extent, but not necessarily a function of the size of the lure.

The titer of the monofilaments is between 20 and 10,000 dtex and preferably between 50 and 350 dtex.

The bundle of sections of monofilaments can be associated in a fixed manner with the other parts of the lure: hooks, elements for fixing to the line, elements completing the appearance of the lure, etc.

However, it can also be detachably combined. So in case of loss of efficiency due to a very long use, it will be possible to change only the bundle of monofilaments and keep the other parts of the lure.

By way of nonlimiting examples, there may be mentioned various embodiments of the lure according to the invention - Surface lures provided with a tail formed of perfumed monofilaments, and optionally unscented of regular or irregular diameters and of lengths adjusted to have a swim adapted to the fishing style. The head and body of the lures can take the form of a fish or special shapes to attract the fish. Here the use of flowered monofilaments, making the tail of the fish appear thinner, will give a more realistic appearance to the lure.

 - Colorful sheaves, formed of perfumed and possibly unscented monofilaments, multicolored arranged in the form of feathers or balls. These can be incorporated into several already known lures (spoons for example) or used to make new lures of the "submachine gun" type for example; which consist of locks of monofilaments fixed by a link on a hook.

- Small booties formed of perfumed and possibly unscented mono filaments tight against each other and fixed directly on the hooks or connected to the hooks as can boilies in carp fishing. The advantage of these boots over boilies is that they do not disintegrate during throws.

- Body of artificial flies.

Preferably, the monofilaments, in particular the perfumed monofilaments, are based on homopolyamide or copolyamide. The polyamide used is the caprolactam polymer (Polyamide 6) or the polymer of hexamethylenediamine and adipic acid (Polyamide 66). Copolymers such as the copolymer of hexamethylenediamine, adipic acid and 6 caprolactam (copolyamide 66/6 or 6/66), the copolymer of hexamethylenediamine of adipic acid and 11-amino-undecanoic acid (copolyamide 66/11), the copolymer of 1 caprolactam and amino-ll undecanoic acid (copolyamide 6/11), the copolymer of icaprolactam and 9-amino acid nonanolque (copolymer 6/9), the copolymer of caprolactam and dodecanolactam- 1.12 (copolyamide 6/12).

The good porosity of the perfumed monofilaments results in a great ability to absorb and release water. Perfumes (or aromas) introduced into the mass can gradually migrate from the inside to the outside when the monofilaments are in the water and thus attract the fish, moreover the monofilaments retain their fragrance well when they are out of the water.

The penetration of water inside the porous wire leads to a softening of the latter. Thus the measurement of the rigidity of the monofilament out of the water and in the water makes it possible to appreciate its porosity in absolute terms, or in comparison with other monofilaments. Rigidity is commonly expressed by the sonic module which can be measured by the method described in the French application published under No. 2 641797, knowing that the greater the rigidity, the higher the sonic module.

Among the polyamides or copolyamides mentioned, use is advantageously made of a copolyamide 66/6 having the following proportions by weight: polyamide 66: 75 to 90% - polyamide 6: 25 to 10%; preferably a copolyamide 66/6 is used in the proportions 75/25. This copolyamide responds well to the porosity criterion sought.

However, any other polymer, copolymer or mixture of polymers meeting the criterion of "good porosity", that is to say having a porosity of the same order of magnitude as that of the copolyamide above, expressed by the sonic modulus measured, can be used. on dry wire then wet.

The term “perfumes” denotes either perfumes in the proper sense of the term or adjuvants such as aromas generally giving off flavors capable of appealing to the gustatory sense of the fish.

Any perfume resistant to the temperatures to which the polymer is subjected during the manufacturing process of the perfumed monofilaments can be used.

We can cite the flavors: synthetic vanilla, coconut, sardine oil, cod liver oil or any other flavor used in food or perfumery and likely to compose fruity, floral or animal flavors in order to attract fish. such as the flavors cited without limitation in the French application published under No. 2 641797.

The level of perfume incorporated in the perfumed monofilaments is preferably between 1 and 10% relative to the weight of the polymer.

Since the monofilaments are not mechanically stressed, their breaking strength is not an essential criterion. They preferably have a linear breaking strength of less than 50 kg / mm2 for diameters less than or equal to 70/100 mm, less than 30 kg / mm2 for diameters greater than 70/100 mm and less than 200/100 mm and less than 20 Kg / mm2 for diameters greater than 200/100 mm.

The perfumed monofilaments are advantageously manufactured by the process claimed in the French application published under "2 641797, in which the perfume is introduced into the polymer during a phase situated before extrusion. They can be received in spools strand by strand or in locks or also in bundles in the same way as monofilaments intended for brushing.

When they are colored, the process comprises a dyeing step, either by introducing the dyes into the mass, or by passing after extrusion of the monofilaments into: one or more dye baths.

The main advantage of the lure according to the invention is that it combines the three-way appeal of the fish: sight, hearing, taste and this in a lasting manner. Indeed, the porosity of the monofilaments allows them to absorb and release water and also to gradually diffuse the aroma around the lure.

As a high rate of aroma can be introduced into the monofilaments, these keep their ability to diffuse perfumes and flavors for a long time and therefore their effectiveness, especially since, when they are out of the water, the monofilaments retain good aromas and perfume.

This new lure should be particularly appreciated among others by the ecological world which refuses to fish or to let fish with live or dead fish, insects or crustaceans.

The examples and the figure below are intended to illustrate the invention without limiting it.

Example 1 It illustrates the manufacture and the characteristics of the
perfumed monofilaments used in the manufacture of

Perfumed monofilaments are produced by implementing the process claimed in the French application published under No. 2 641797.

The starting polymer is a copolyamide 66/6 in the proportions 75/25 by weight, with a melting point of 200 "C and a viscosity index (1V) of 170 according to international standard ISO-307-1977.

A “vanilla” perfume based on 3 methoxy 4 Hydroxy Benzaldehyde (vanillin) from the company RHONE POULENC is introduced by dry coating into the copolyamide granules at a rate of 2% by weight. The perfumed copolyamide is extruded under the following operating conditions

These monofilaments manufactured by the process according to French application published under N 2 641 797, are very porous and have a very great ability to absorb and eliminate water, as has been demonstrated by measurements of sonic modulus dry and wet in said request.

They therefore have a strong ability to gradually diffuse the fragrance into the water, which can also be confirmed by the tests carried out by olfactory: and taste assessment, described in the same application.

Example 2
The same process is used as in Example 1, to which a dyeing step is added, to manufacture perfumed and colored monofilaments having, apart from the color, the same characteristics as those of Example 1. The dyeing is carried out by surface dyeing on unstretched monofilaments.

Before the stretching step in hot water, the monofilaments pass through an aqueous bath containing the dyes and adjuvants intended to promote dyeing: wetting agents, swelling agents promoting swelling of the pores of the unstretched monofilaments.

The monofilaments obtained: scented, colored, drawn and received on a support are then cut into sections of two different lengths 50 mm and 200 mm which are flowered at one end. It is from these sections that the lure according to the invention is made, an exemplary embodiment of which is shown diagrammatically in partial section in FIG. 1. It comprises a front support 1, in the shape of a fish head, provided a cylindrical shoulder 2 intended to serve as a support at one end of the sections of monofilaments 3 and to their fixing by crimping by means of a ring 5. The support 1 is also provided with a central orifice 6 for the passage of end of line 7 carrying the hooks 8 at one of its ends and fixed by its other end to the main line. The sections of scented and colored monofilaments 3 constitute a bundle 10 in the form of a skirt or tail in the extension of the frontal support 1, camouflaging the hooks 8. We notice the free ends 11 flowered with monofilaments and the different lengths which, once the lure in the water, can produce special effects of hage realistically imitating the caudal fin of fish.

Example 3
From the same process as in Example 2 and with suitable settings, perfumed and colored monofilaments of 200 dtex titer are produced. These monofilaments are received and put into bundles of length 80 mm maintained by tying. These booties are directly fixed by tying on the hook.

Example 4
An intimate mixture of sections of scented and colored monofilaments of 200 mm is produced according to Example 2 with sections of monofilaments of the same nature, same color, same length but unscented, in the proportion 50:50. From these mixed monofilaments, a lure is manufactured according to the same technique as that described in Example 2.

Obviously the invention is not limited to the examples described, but can take any form of embodiment coming within the scope of the present application and in particular, but not exclusively, those cited in the text.

The invention applies to any form of fishing with bait, sport, leisure, or professional both at sea and in fresh water and whatever the size of the fish.
