Abstract

The process consists in hydrophilising sponges made of polyurethane foam. The latter do not spontaneously become soaked in contact with water. After application of the process they are soft and absorbent. This process consists in treating the material in an alkaline solution for a variable period which is a function of a number of factors. The objective is an improvement of the utilisation conditions in the normal uses of the sponge.
