Abstract

The present addition relates to a device making it possible to close the flue pipe quickly in the event of a chimney fire. It consists of a hand grip (18), of a threaded rod (17) with a flap (19), of a cam (20) which is pierced and has the same flap (21) as the rod (17) for fastening. On its top, the pusher lip (23) and two lock nuts. The device of the present addition is particularly intended for quickly closing the flap in the event of a chimney fire: it can be fitted to any chimney sweeping hatch with a bypass box regardless of its shape.

Description

After several tests of the entire sweeping hatch
Filed on November 29, 2008, registered under number: 88.16011, it turns out that the
system, performance and simplicity would be increased if it had a firm
-Quick closing of the shutter to stop the chimney fire.

THE device according to the invention allows at the start to remedy
to the chimney fire.

The present addition relates to a permetering device, from the in
-'tenor of the apartment, to close the flue.

According to a first characteristic, it indeed comprises
cam which, with its top, has a bias welded lip, starting from
left to right to sero.

- Is connected by the intermediary of an axis, to a handle, located
on the chimney hood on the apartment side.

 The assembly being fixed to the axis of the hatch.

According to particular embodiments, the hook rod
can be part of the whole. Indeed, it allows when it is
off the push of the flue closing flap.

- The lug (6) is loosened by a bent flat iron (6).

-The hook rod (14) will be a flat iron (14) with a recess
of two centimeters with a depth of two millimeters.

- The hatch (2) is shown split in two to allow the
vision of the rapid closure. It will be pierced in the middle to allow the passage of the threaded rod (17) on its end piece.

the chimney sweep and the flue.

 -The cam (20) two centimeters in width and two millimeters in thickness, the lip (23) one centimeter in height and two millimeters in thickness for example.

 -The device according to the invention can be adapted to any chimney provided with a sweeping hatch with flap (registered under the number 88 16011).

 The shutter is closed by a simple rotation of the handle (18), the cam (20) rotates under the hook rod (14) and lifts it.

 Via the hook rod (14), the lip (23) will push the flap (12) which will cause the flue to close.

So thanks to a simple manipulation the beginning of fire will be smothered.

 The front of the hook rod (14) is replaced by a flat iron eight centimeters long. on its middle was placed a tensioner (24), with a threaded rod on both sides, which allows to hold the airtight shutter in a vertical position.

 The flat iron (14) has a notch of two centimeters on its tip with a depth of two millimeters, which allows the hatch to be kept open.

 The lug (6) is replaced by a bent flat iron (6).

On the apartment side, the handle (18) and the stop (22).

 On the duct side, the cam (20) with its biased lip (23) (traced in black its rod in extension with the tightening nuts.

 It must be considered that the bypass box (9) is round, rectangular, square or lair, whether it is made of cast iron, steel, or any other material resistant to high temperatures, the closing mode with shutter (12) articulated will remain the same.
