Abstract

Process for constructing structures, in particular underpasses through a slope or embankment supporting one or more railway lines. According to the invention, this process is characterised in that it involves, after the track (21) has been cut over a length corresponding to that of the underpass (23) to be made below it, constructing a concrete frame (24) delimiting this underpass by means of two half-elements (30, 31) of U-shaped cross-section, arranged opposite one another on either side of the slope or embankment (22) supporting the track, progressively bringing these half-elements towards one another by relative driving, causing them to penetrate forcibly into the slope until they are brought into contact with one another, removing the excavated material from inside the half-elements in proportion as they penetrate into the slope, then arranging a track support deck (43) on the frame, and finally reconstructing the track over the length of the deck.
