Abstract

This extension 6 is intended to be fitted in a detachable manner on one end of a drink can 1 which is easily opened by a tear-off cover 5 pre-cut in its lid 3; the extension 6 comprises an elastic lateral rim 7 which can cooperate with a lid 3 crimping necking 4 for the positioning of the extension on the can 1, and the extension is provided, at its end opposite the rim 7, with a blunt edge 8, preferably rounded, allowing application to the drinker's lips without danger.

Description

 the present invention relates to a riser intended for between removably mounted on one end of a beverage can with easy opening by a tear-off lid precut in its cover, as well as the beverage can equipped with this riser.

 There are known metallic beverage cans, of cylindrical shape, the cover of which is fixed by crimping onto the body of the can, thanks to an annular terminal shrinkage. The removable lid lid allows easy opening of the can by the drinker.

 However, the contact of the lips of the latter with the metal of the cover is not very pleasant. In addition, the ln- management of the drink is not very comfortable due to the very conformation of the box.

 The aim of the invention is therefore to eliminate these drawbacks in order to improve the comfort of the drinker.

 To this end, the extension according to the invention comprises an edge formed by an elastic bead which can cooperate with the crimping crimp of the cover for the installation of the extension, which is provided, at its end opposite to the bead, with an edge. not sharp, preferably rounded, to allow safe application of the lips of a drinker.

 The enhancement thus thus extends axially the periphery of the beverage can by substantially reconstituting a portion of glass, which provides the drinker with the desired comfort, avoiding contact of the drinker's lips with the metal of the cover.

 Preferably, the enhancement is made of an appropriate elastic plastic material, of food quality.

 According to one embodiment, the extension consists of an open ring, the opposite ends of which can deviate elastically to allow the establishment of the lateral bead in the constriction of the box.

 According to another characteristic, the extension forms a portion of cylinder whose length is greater in its central zone than that of its ends.

 Other features and advantages of the invention will appear during the description which follows, made with reference to the accompanying drawings which illustrate an embodiment thereof by way of non-limiting example.

 Figure 1 is an exploded perspective view of a beverage can and the corresponding riser according to the invention.

 Figure 2 is a partial perspective view of the box of Fig.1 equipped with its extension.

 Figure 3 is a sectional view along 3-3 of Fig.2.

 We see in the drawings a beverage can 1 with easy opening, comprising a cylindrical body 2, generally metallic, closed at one end by a cover 3 fixed on the body 1 by crimping thanks to an annular constriction 4. A tear-off lid 5 is precut in the cover 3, in a known manner.

 The invention provides an extension 6 intended for between removably mounted on the end of the box 1 having the constriction 4. For this purpose the extension 6 preferably consists of an open ring, forming a portion of cylinder whose radius is substantially equal to that of the box 1, and it comprises an edge constituted by an elastic lateral bead 7 which can be housed in the constriction 4.

 On the side opposite to the bead 7, the extension 6 is provided with a non-cutting edge 8, preferably rounded, to allow the safe application on this edge 8 of the lips of a drinker. The two ends 6a facing the extension 6 can elastically deviate from one another, in order to allow the establishment of the bead 7 in the constriction 4. Preferably but not necessarily, the area central 6b of the extension 6 has an axial length greater than that of its ends 6a, and in the example shown, the length of the extension decreases regularly from the central zone 6b to the ends 6a.

 After tearing off the cover 5, the drinker applies his lips to the edge 8, and feels a comfort similar to that which he would have thanks to the use of a normal drink glass.

 The extension 6 can be removed from the box 1 by simple elastic spacing of its ends 6a.

 As a variant, the extension could consist of a completely closed ring chosen from an elastic material, in order to allow the positioning of its lateral bead in the constriction 4. But this extension would be less easy to put in place than the extension represented at drawings. Similarly, the extension could be formed of a metallic material, but the comfort of use would be less than if it was made of plastic.

Claims (4)

Extension (6) intended to be removably mounted on one end of a beverage can (1) with a crimped lid, with easy opening, one edge of the extension consisting of an elastic bead (7) capable of cooperating with a narrowing (4) for crimping the cover for the positioning of said extension, which is provided, at its end opposite to the bead (7), with a non-cutting edge (8), preferably rounded, to allow the safe application of a drinker's lips.  2. Extension according to claim 1, characterized in that it consists of an open ring, the ends (6a) facing each other can. deviate elastic to allow '.- establishment of the lateral bead (7) in the neck (4) of the box (1).  3. Extension according to one of claims 1 and 2, characterized in that it forms a portion of cylinder whose length is greater in its central zone (6b) than that of its ends (6a).  4. Easy-open beverage can, comprising a terminal neck (4) for crimping a cover (3), and a tear-off lid (5) pre-cut in the cover, characterized in that it comprises a removable riser (6 ) with elastic positioning on the neck (4), according to one of claims 1 to 3.
