Abstract

A novel input keyboard layout, characterised by the vertical and alphabetical sequence of the characters, in which the vowels are the reference keys. The keys are limited to thirty-two with the addition of the space key. The characters specific to a given language are obtained by providing dual-purpose vowel keys. The numeric keys - or the arrow keys - are obtained by pressing a numeric key ''N'' located in the left column. Capitals are obtained by pressing the capital ''M'' key located near the full stop on the left column.

CIMtPLIFIED INTERNATIONAL ALPHPBETIC KEYBOARD
The present invention relates to the arrangement and reduction to 32 of the keys necessary for entering text on a typewriter or computer.

The traditional QWERTY or QWERTY keyboard dates from 1873 and was intended to avoid tangling of the letter pins. It is not suitable for the ultra-fast computer. Attempts to arrange the keys according to the frequency of the letters in a precise or imaginary language were made, but without reduction in the number of keys and requesting a new learning.

An attempt to reduce the keys to six, the letters being obtained by combining the fingers of one hand, also required tedious learning.

The present invention does not pretend to the careful typing of a text, but to the elementary typing in the form of notes, which can then be improved using a word processor.

The present invention therefore reduces the number of keys to 32 - plus the space key - these keys being easily memorized by an amateur.

The present invention arranges the letters in columns in alphabetical order, the punctuation marks according to their usual use and the numeric signs next to the numeric key.

The present invention, by reducing the number of keys to 32, makes it possible to integrate the keyboard into pocket computers of format 21 X 9 centimeters, by way of nonlimiting example and provided with a small liquid crystal screen,
