Abstract

Creation of an illuminated artificial fir tree, consisting of a plurality of plastic optical fibres. According to the invention, the illuminated artificial fir tree created requires no external artifice and is ready for use simply by connection to the electricity supply. The illuminated artificial fir tree created consists of a plurality of plastic optical fibres forming an amalgamated bundle 1 ending in a first plane 2. The offset optical fibres of the bundle are curved by thermo-forming 3 and are separated from the trunk so as to form a cone 4 whose bundle is located substantially on the axis 5. The means for coupling the output of the light source 6 with the input of the plastic optical fibres 7 is a rotary disc 9 which enables each branch to be lit up at its end. The assembly thus formed is covered with a material which has characteristics of diffraction, absorption, adhesion, covering and retention 8. The extremities of the plastic optical fibres include diffusers, dischargers or lights (artifices) 10.

Les autres extrémités des fibres optiques plastiques étant décalées du faisceau et recourbées dans un angle supérieur à 900 (3), suivant une progression géométrique. Les longueurs de fibres optiques plastiques s'éloignent du tronc de manière décroissante, de façon à ce que l'ensemble des faces d'extrémité soient situées sur une surface conique (4) dont le faisceau est situé sensiblement sur l'axe (1) et (5). Une source lumineuse (6) et les moyens pour coupler la sortie de la source lumineuse (9) avec les faces du faisceau de fibres optiques plastiques sont situés dans le premier plan. La fibre, s'écartant du faisceau, est thermoformée afin d'obtenir la courbure naturelle d'une branche (3). L'ensemble, ainsi formé, est recouvert d'un matériau choisi parmi les matériaux ayant les caractéristiques de diffraction, d'absorption, d'adhésion, de recouvrement et de retenue (8).
