Abstract

The invention relates to a blocking-off device for promoting ocular exercise when wearing aspherical- or progressive-type correcting lenses. It consists of a self-adhering plastic blocking-off device 1 provided with a precut opening 2 forcing the eye to use a vision channel (corridor), the opening corresponding to the clear vision zone for a given distance with the type of lens used on the pair of spectacles 4. The device according to the invention is particularly indicated for the fitting and use of progressive lenses.

Description

The present invention relates to a shutter device for promoting ocular gymnastics when wearing corrective spectacle lenses
No current system exists
Learning and using corrective lenses, in particular progressive lenses or aspherical lenses, remain problematic. Progressive lenses in particular have a reduced area of clear vision for a precise distance (without spherical aberration). This area is not delimited; the wearer has to find it for himself, which remains the major handicap of this type of glass
The device according to the invention overcomes this drawback. It indeed includes an opaque or semi-transparent self-adhesive shutter provided with an opening corresponding to the useful area of the glass in which the vision remains clear for a precise distance. This opening obliging the eye to use this clear vision corridor
The optician when mounting the lenses in the frame has all the features allowing him to cut this shutter to the shape of the lens, depending on the centering and the axis of the window for the wearer's eye. the shutter can be manufactured in self-adhesive plastic sheets applied to the glass; the thickness of the materials must allow good adhesion of the shutter by simple contact and must be easy to remove: the wearer using this shutter only for a period
only. the opening is precut, it includes: - a horizontal window which can vary in length and width depending on the type of frame and the type of lens - an oblique window which can also vary in height, width and inclination, depending on the type of frame and type of lens.

The shutter is to be used on the front or back depending on the eye to be closed. To obtain the expected result, both eyes must be closed
The accompanying drawings illustrate the invention
FIG. 1 represents a model of raw shutter before
its cut
Figure 2 shows the shutters once placed on
glasses glasses
The device shown in Figure 1 has a shutter of 80 mm in diameter, the pre-cut horizontal window (2) is centered, it has a length of 30 mm by 10 mm high, the oblique pre-cut window (3) has its part upper centered relative to the bottom of the horizontal window, its length is 5 mm, its height is 15 mm, its inclination is such that there is an offset of 2.5 mm at the bottom of the window
The device shown in Figure 2 comprises - a pair of eyeglasses - two shutters corresponding to that drawn in Figure 1, cut according to the shape of the glass, centered and centered according to each eye and applied to the glasses.

The device according to the invention is particularly indicated for the adaptation to progressive lenses for any new wearer.
