Abstract

Device to render driving, a wheel carrying a servo-assisted pay-out. The invention relates to a star-configured rotary driving device having oscillating cylinders 4 allowing a long stroke to pistons 1 mounted on rods 2 and rotating about the crankpin 3 of a large-radius fixed crankshaft 11. The thrust of a gas between the pistons and the bottoms of the oscillating cylinders 4, directly on the rim of the wheel, drives the latter with no intermediary. The reduction in the number of components and the arrangement of the assembly allow integration of the device into a servo-assisted movable pay-out wheel. The device according to the invention is particularly intended for driving an item of fire-fighting equipment, such as a servo-assisted movable pay-out or a fire-extinguisher wheel on wheels, or any other equipment which moves on a limited radius of action.
