The subject of the present invention is an automatic device for bonding the feathers of arrows for a bow or crossbow. It consists of the combination firstly of a shaft (bolt) carrying barrel 2 which can rotate about a vertical axis, consisting of two superimposed plates 5, 6 the lower plate 6 being equipped with individual supports which can themselves rotate about axes which are parallel to that of the barrel 2, then of a feather carrying barrel 3 which can also rotate about a vertical axis, and sliding horizontally, with fixing modules 14 which are interchangeable as a function of the type of feathers 16 used, carrying on their periphery elements 15 made from elastomer or another flexible material for fixing the feathers, forming grippers, the clamping of which is adapted to the feathers 16, then of an automatic means for coating the feathers with glue, and finally of a system for indexing the angular position of the barrels and of the individual supports, the assembly being driven by an automatic sequencing means. It is designed for applying natural feathers or vanes made from a synthetic material to the heel of a shaft (bolt) made from wood, metal or some other material for manufacturing arrows for archery.
