Abstract

The rotary drill bit has a number of radial blades (3) projecting outwardly from a central tool head portion. The blades each carry a series of polycrystalline diamond cutting teeth. The blades are fabricated separately from the tool head (1) and are received by groove-type locating position (2) in the head. The blades are secured within the groove positions by bolts (6) or similar fasteners. ADVANTAGE - Simplified mfg. and assembly procedures.
