Abstract

The invention relates to an archiving or filing box made of compact or corrugated cardboard whose structure allows it to receive very thick contents. This box is constituted by a cut-out comprising four flaps 2 and 3 forming the vertical sides and the top. Each group of opposite flaps comprises a series of grooves close to the edges of the bottom of the box. This series of grooves has a width equal to the height of the box which is freely determined without taking account of its flat dimensions. Furthermore, two opposite flaps (longitudinal or transverse) have free ends provided with a series of grooves which allow these elements to be folded upon themselves when the contents of the box are thin and which, on unfolding, allow very thick contents to be put into the box.

The object of the present invention is an archival or variable height filing box intended to receive files, documents, sheets, printed matter, etc. so that its height can vary within wide limits while having flaps on all four sides, which makes it possible to protect and maintain the content well even in the case of very thick archives.

 Currently, archival or extendable filing boots are of 3 different types 1 / - Shirts with 3 bellows, including 1 bottom. These items are very expensive because the bellows are clothed and require expensive bonding operations. In addition, the covered bellows deform, wear out quickly and damage the contents. The height of these boots varies from about ten to ten centimeters.

2 / - The filing cabinets with sliding backs. The manufacture of these articles requires several successive operations. They have no side flaps and the contents are poorly maintained and protected. Their height varies from zero to about twelve centimeters. Their cost is high.

3 / - The small binders with four lateral flaps, forming the vertical parts and the top, in compact cardboard called "Lyon", whose two longitudinal flaps overlap each other. Their height varies from zero to only seven centimeters, because their structure, as explained below, does not allow the longitudinal flaps to be wide enough to obtain both a large height and a satisfactory overlap of the longitudinal flaps .

 In addition, these boxes with four flaps currently have closures formed by elastic bands on two angles, making an angle of 45 degrees on the sides.  According to a second variant, the overlapping flaps are arranged on the transverse sides; this embodiment makes it possible to obtain even longer covering flaps and, consequently, very high boxes.

 According to a third variant, the structure is the same as in the second variant, but only one of the transverse flaps carries end grooves.

 According to a fourth variant, the structure is the same as in the second variant but the transverse flaps are limited to the length of the box.

In any case, the invention will be clearly understood with the aid of the following description, with reference to the appended schematic drawings represented by tar.t, by way of nonlimiting example, an embodiment of this box.

Figure 1 is a flat and developed view of a claimed filing or filing box.

Figures 2 and 3 are cross-sectional views of these boxes.

We distinguish in Figure 1, the bottom (1), the transverse flaps (2) whose width is equal to the maximum height of the box plus an extension of 5 to 10 centimeters intended to be folded over the contents.
