Abstract

Submersible sealed auricular acoustic device, of the type including an adaptor characterised in that it consists of: a shell 1 embracing an earpiece with cable 4 or a receiver of frequencies, having a recessed conical area 6 onto which is placed a synthetic diaphragm 2 which obstructs the entrance thereof and an auricular adaptor 3. The assembly being submersible and sealed, thus allowing sound listening in an aqueous medium.

Description

 The present invention relates to an acoustic ear device, waterproof, submersible, in which are placed any sound reproduction device, of the earphone type with cable or frequency receiver of small size. This device allows a clear hearing in immersion.

 Certain current earphones or receivers, which are placed on or in the ears, are designed to resist splashing water, but are not intended for use underwater.

 The device according to the invention makes it possible to remedy the problem of sealing and listening underwater.

 The device in fact comprises a molded shell in which is placed an earpiece (with cable) or a frequency receiver (wireless).

A synthetic membrane placed on the conical part of the shell located opposite the loudspeaker. The function of this membrane is to obstruct the entry of the shell cavity, particularly to liquids, thus avoiding the malfunction of the system included in this shell.

 By choosing its synthetic quality, this membrane allows good reproduction of the sound emitted by the different types of speakers.

 So that the waterproof shell allowing the equipment to function properly, is audible in Liteau, an eartip made of synthetic material used by swimmers, after modification, come cover the membrane and the conical part of the shell. This special nozzle allows the sound from the earpiece to pass through the synthetic membrane to the eardrum of the user, without water interfering in the propagation of the sound, once the device is placed in the ear canal.

 The shape and material of this eartip allows the device to stay in place well in the ear, by a simple movement of a quarter rotation of the device, and therefore once the head is in the water, a perfect seal for the whole, without risk to the equipment and its good sound quality.

 Obtaining the tightness of the speaker cable is done by mounting by gluing the two half-shells inserting cable and earphone.

 To allow the connection of the device to a possible case, a threaded plug by injection around the cable is applied to the device cable.

 The sealing of the threaded plug to a housing is done by the crushing of a thoracic joint located between the bearing surface of the head of the plug and the wall pierced to receive the plug of the housing, the crushing of a thoric joint situated between the range of the head of the plug and the wall pierced to receive the plug from the case, the crushing occurs when a nut is screwed onto the plug of the device.

 When the device is manufactured, the shell is produced in two symmetrical half-shells (plastic injection). After fitting the apparatus, we come to glue two half-shells, stick the membrane on the conical surface and cover this part with a special tip.

 The device shown in section in Figure (2) before assembly includes the half-shell (1), the synthetic membrane (2), the special pierced tip, a sound reproduction device (4) of the earphone type plus a waterproof connection and flexible (5) of the cable, obtained by means of a spring mounted around the cable and embedded in flexible PVC adhesive allowing welding with the material of the cable.

 Figure (3) shows the section of the two half-shells (1) assembled with the conical orifice (6) of the cavity on which the synthetic membrane (2) is to be applied.

 Figure (4) shows the bottom view according to Figure (1) of the assembled device.

 Figure (6) shows the sealed connection plug between the acoustic device possibly connected to a cable and a box.

Claims (6)

 1) Waterproof submersible acoustic device, of the type comprising a tip characterized in that it consists of: a shell (l) including an earpiece with cable (4) or a frequency receiver, having a hollowed conical range (6 ) on which are placed a synthetic membrane (2) which obstructs the entry and an earmold (3). The whole being immersible and waterproof which allows a sound hearing in aqueous medium.  2) Device according to claim 1, characterized in that the shell (l) has a particularly studied shape having a wider lower part, designed to receive either an earpiece (4) or a receiver, the refined upper part being adapted to the lower part of the eartip (3).  3) Device according to claim l, characterized in that the synthetic membrane (2) is fixed to the upper part (6) of the shell (1) by gluing.  4) Device according to claim i characterized in that the synthetic membrane (2) is fixed to the upper part (6) of the shell (i) by hot welding.  5) Device according to claim l characterized in that the synthetic membrane (2) is fixed on the upper part (6) of the shell (l) by clamping means of the strapping type.  6) Device according to claim l characterized in that the membrane is made of suitable material allowing the reproduction of sound.
