Abstract

Device for the packaging and protection of containers: it comprises a flexible material such as thick cardboard, folded around the utensil and cut out when flat in such a way as to comprise a section c1 adapted to form the external covering of the bottom of the container, at least two arm sections a1, a2 adjoining this section, angularly offset and long enough to be able to be folded over the edge of the container and reach the bottom of the latter and a third arm a3 placed along the bisectrix of the angle formed by the first two, the third arm having a shape adapted to hook onto the handle of the utensil or to be folded inside the container if the latter has no handle. Application to saucepans, pots and similar articles.

Description

 The invention relates to a device for packaging and protecting containers such as saucepans, pots and the like.

 The problem posed by the Applicant is to produce packaging which can play, in addition to their protective role, in particular when the containers are stacked by nesting in one another for storage and transport, a role of presentation by allowing those interested to appreciate the quality of the product without undoing the packaging. It must also be inexpensive and easy to set up or remove.

 This problem is solved according to the invention by constituting the packaging with a flexible material such as thick cardboard, which, by flat cutting in one piece, comprises a part of shape suitable for coating the bottom of the container externally, at least first two arms adjoining this part, angularly offset on its periphery and long enough to be folded over the edge of the container and come inside it to its bottom and finally a third arm, placed along the bisector the angle formed by the first two, this third arm having a shape adapted to hang on the handle of the utensil in the case of a pan or to fold back inside the container, like the other two, if the container has no handle.

 In the preferred embodiment, the third arm is attached to one of the first two arms with such an inclination on the flat cut, that by folding this third arm is placed in the extension of the bisector of the angle formed by the first two arms.

 I1 is advantageous that the cutout comprises, the birth of the third arm, a part, for example circular, adapted to cover the internal surface of the bottom of the container, this part being provided with a notch to allow giving to the fold line l 'proper orientation.

 In the manufacture of packaging, this embodiment has the advantage of allowing savings in materials by reducing the importance of the scraps when the initial plate of cardboard or other material is cut, for example by die-stamping.

 The description which follows, with reference to the appended drawings, given by way of nonlimiting example, will make it clear how the invention can be implemented.

 Figure 1 shows in perspective a transparent ceramic glass pan, provided with a protective packaging according to the invention.

 Figure 2 is an identical view but on which the locking tab of one of the arms has been released.

 Figure 3 shows the pan seen from below.

 Figure 4 shows flat the shape of the packaging cutout before folding and use.

 Figure 5 is an enlarged detail view showing the junction between one of the first two arms and the third arm.

 Figure 6 is a perspective view illustrating how the blank is folded for its implementation.

 Figure 7 shows a variant.

 In Figure 1, we see in 1 a pan with its handle 2. It is provided with the packaging according to the invention, made from a flat cut in one piece, in a cardboard plate of suitable thickness (2 to 3 millimeters approximately). This cut has two first arms a 1, a 2, which, starting from a circle placed under the bottom of the pan, are folded over the edge of the pan to come inside it.

The two arms are offset by about 1200, this angle having its bisector in the vertical plane which contains the axis of the handle 2.

 While the arm a1, after folding, ends roughly at the level of the interior surface of the bottom of the pan, the other arm a2, which also extends to the bottom, adjoins a circle c2 intended for s '' apply to the inside of the bottom. The circle c2 is itself adjacent to a third arm a3 carrying two notches el, e2 in which the handle of the pan is threaded.

 In this way the protective packaging is held on the one hand by the handle and on the other hand by a small cleat t (of the arm al) which is engaged in a notch e3 practiced the periphery of the circle c2.

 The pan thus equipped, with the use of a cardboard of sufficient thickness, is effectively protected in particular when you stack by nesting several pans for storage or transport, without those interested having to undo the packaging to see and touch the product, which is perfectly accessible in the intervals between the arms.

 An interesting feature appears in Figures 4 and 5. We see in these figures that the third arm a3, adjoining the circle c2, is, on the flat cut, very close to the arm a2.

 This makes it possible to reduce the importance of the scraps when the blank is cut out from a cardboard plate such as P.

 When placing this cutout in the pan, we will start by engaging the handle in the notches el, e2, then we will place the bottom of the pan on the circle cl, we will then fold the arms al, a2, by- above the edge of the pan towards its interior, and, simultaneously, fold the arm a3 towards the interior of the pan so as to engage the circle c2 inside of it. Taking Figures 4 and 5, it note that, in this operation, the a3 arm bends at 1800 around line 11 to be placed under the circle c2 from where it emerges at a '' '3. This fold line 11 is determined so that the axis a'3 of the arm a3 comes under a '' '3 directed at 1200 relative to the axis a'2 of the arm a2, which requires parallelism, at least approximate, between the fold line 11 and the bisector of the angle formed by the lines a'3 and a '' '3. In addition, so that folding can be done along line 11, the circle c2 is cut along line lm.

 Alternative embodiments are naturally possible.

 For example, one could place the arm a3 on the circle c2 in a position such as that shown in FIG. 7, which would avoid folding of this arm a3 which has been described above, but at the cost of an expense of larger carton.

Claims (3)

 1. Device for packaging and protecting containers such as pans, pots and the like, comprising a flexible material such as thick cardboard, folded around the utensil, characterized in that the flexible material is cut flat so as to to include a part (c) adapted to form the covering of the bottom of the container, at least two first arms (al, a2) adjoining this part, angularly offset and long enough to be folded over the edge of the container to reach the bottom of it and a third arm (a3), placed along the bisector of the angle formed by the first two, the third arm having a shape suitable for hanging on the handle of the utensil or for folding back inside the container if it does not have a handle.  2. Device according to claim 1, characterized in that one of the first two arms (a2) and the third arm (a3) are attached to each other on the cutout with a slight relative inclination, the third arm coming to bend at 1800 under the other around a line (11) inclined so that after folding the third arm emerges in a position (a "3) whose angular offset with respect to the other two arms is substantially the same as that of these arms between them.  3. Device according to claim 2, characterized in that the part of the cutout to which one of the first two arms (a2) adjoins and the third arm (a3) has a circular shape and is provided with a notch ( lm) to clear the fold line (11) of the third arm (a3).
