Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an individual emergency call device, by radio signal or emission of light signals, the assembly being able to serve as a waterproof flashlight. This device allows the localization of the person in distress at short distance.
Most boats are not equipped with emergency call systems other than colored rockets. On the other hand, boats equipped with radios have a fixed transceiver, which limits the possibilities of calling for help if the ship sinks. I1 exist transmitters which transmit a distress signal via a satellite, they are of a high price and of a consequent weight, which does not allow to equip each man. Other transmitters of individual distress signals are marketed, more particularly for the mountains, but these require an appropriate device for receiving the signal.
The device according to the invention overcomes these drawbacks.
I1 comprises a box containing a lighting system of the flashlight type and a transmitter of radio distress signals. These signals are used to directly notify the authorities responsible for rescue.
The lighting or emission selection or both sets is obtained by action on a selector placed on the box. The flashing function is obtained thanks to a button placed under the case within reach of the index.
A humidity detector automatically controls the commissioning of the transmitter in the event of a man who has lost consciousness lost overboard. The handle is provided with a shape used to ensure the stability of the assembly when it is installed. The handle is provided with a pin, which allows the assembly to be hung on a garment. At the end of the handle is placed a wire winder, the wire is equipped with a carabiner in order to be hung on a garment, which avoids losing the whole during its use.
According to a preferred embodiment, the axis of the housing and that of the handle form an angle tending to direct the light beam upward when the lamp is placed on the handle. This angle also allows a more natural grip of the whole.
The transmitter emits a signal in the form of regular "beeps" or in Morse language by forming a message.
According to a variant, the assembly can be equipped with a kit ensuring its buoyancy while keeping the transmitting antenna out of the water.
