Abstract

The present invention relates to a golf club with a particular structure, intended in particular for beginners.

We know how difficult it is for young players to send the ball in the chosen direction. When the ball is struck by the head of the golf course, it undergoes a small pivoting due to the inexperience of the player who badly maintains the handle of his club. Of course the direction taken by the ball will be all the more removed from the intended direction that this ball will be struck further from the pivot axis, that is to say from the axis of the handle.

This is why, in order to reduce this gap as much as possible, the invention provides for attaching the handle to the head of the club, no longer in the vicinity of one of the lateral edges of the head, but in an area s extending on either side of the median plane thereof, that is to say of the plane perpendicular to its base surface and substantially cutting it in the middle.

 It is clear that with such a handle attachment, the poor behavior of the latter will only result in a relatively small pivoting when the ball is struck, pivoting practically zero when the latter is struck by the middle part. of the head.

In the example shown in Figures 1 and 2, the handle 1 of the club is attached to the head 2 by welding 3, but could enter it by any other means, such as forging, riveting. The attachment zone 3 extends on either side of the vertical median plane intersecting the base surface 4 in the vicinity of its middle.

As shown in Figures 3a and 3b, the player, graceful to the swing transmits to the head of the club a certain speed.

When the club face touches the ball (B) it transmits a certain energy which depends on the speed of the head and its mass and, by inertia, the head undergoes a reaction force F from the ball. It is this force F which makes the head 2 rotate around the axis P by subjecting it to a torque proportional to the distance d separating the striking point from the axis P.

This distance d is much smaller on the club of the invention (Figure 3b) than on the traditional club (Figure 3c).

The head of the club according to the invention can also have a wider base surface 4 than that of traditional clubs by the very fact of the centering of the handle attachment, which also contributes to eliminating to a large extent the undesirable effect of off-center hits.

Of course, the invention applies to all types of clubs, irons or wood in any material whatsoever and with any imaginable head.
