On sait que des dévidoirs du type *escargot" sont utilisés depuis fort longtemps pour la distribution et la découpe de portion de ruban adhésif. Parmi les publications récentes concernant ces évidoirs, on connait notamment les documents FR-A 2 450 223,

Une face rectangulaire identique est logée à l'intérieur dudit cylindre creux. Deux faces verticales relient les deux dites faces rectangulaires. La hauteur du manchon est légèrement inférieure au rayon extérieur du rouleau du ruban adhésif. b) le socle comprend deux faces planes verticales perpendiculaires a l'axe de rotation dudit rouleau et un fond solidaire des deux dites faces verticales , et
c) le moyen de coupe est constitué de deux outils de coupe
