  DESCRIPTION OF AN EMBODIMENT

  Figure 1 shows a cigarette illustrating the principles of the invention. There is a tobacco rod 10 wrapped in a known manner in cigarette paper. The rod 10 bears against a filter portion 11 consisting of tow wrapped in a paper 12 with a high porosity, for example a paper with holes 13. Next to the part 11, there is another part 14 wrapped in a paper 16, folded at 16 to form a ring around a central hole 17. The portions 14 and 11 and the rod 10 are connected together by a highly porous paper sleeve 18 having

  for example, holes 19 coinciding with the holes 13.

  It has been found, after testing, that the cigarette of Figure 1 has a very good taste. This is due to the fact that the air coming from the fiery embers, which normally falls along the cigarette, is joined by air entering through the sides of the part 11 to come through the hole 17 in Part 14.
