Abstract

The present invention relates to an electronic card A including a magnetic stripe 2 and microprocessor 3 pair. The magnetic stripe 2 is scrambled at rest. This scrambling is broken only after identification by the microprocessor 3 of the code entered at the keyboard 1. This interruption of scrambling is timed by the microprocessor 3. The latter automatically invalidates the magnetic stripe 2 as soon as the card A is disconnected from a support. The scrambling becomes irreversible in the event of coding errors which are too close together in time. The card according to the invention is usable among other things for security applications of the plastic money type, for reserved accesses or various transactions.
